“What happens if I get water in my eye after Lasik?”
I had Lasik surgery 1 week ago. I suddenly got water in my eye this morning. What happens if I get water in my eye after Lasik?

Getting a small drop of water in your eye should not cause any problems. You can wash it out with artificial tears. The only thing to worry about is getting an infection. If your eye gets discharge pain or blurry vision you should get it checked out by an eye care professional.

As long as it was just tap water, I would not be concerned unless you do notice something out of the ordinary like swelling, pain, redness, or blurry vision. You should know that your cornea has a tear film that sits above, and on the cornea, so any water would have been mixed in with the tear film, and as you blink, a new tear layer is formed. And for your information, this tear film is mainly water, but there is also mucous and oil that helps to protect our corneas and provides nourishment to this tissue.
If there are any concerns, please see or call your eye doctor who did your Lasik refractive surgery. Good luck and best wishes.

If you had LASIK one week ago, you should be contacting the providing doctor's office that performed your procedure.
Probably nothing will happen if you get water in your eye the only reason we’re concerned with water is because it can have bacteria in it so you’re more prone to infections as long as you’ve been using your antibiotics who should be OK but if you have any pain or discomfort you can go to see your doctor.
