Low creatinine is not a kidney problem. It is usually reflective of a very petite individual or somebody who has low muscle mass, potentially from malnutrition.
Creatinine is related to body muscle mass. So a very small person can have a low creatinine. This does not hurt the kidney. If the creatinine is high in the blood it is not being filtered properly and therefore means the kidneys are not working properly. If the creatinine is low in the urine the kidneys are not working properly.
There is no disease that causes low creatinine level. If Cr is below normal, that is not a problem. If Cr is lower than the range, however, even though it dose not indicate kidney disease, it could indicate that you are have a low muscle mass, or low intake of protein, or you have been sick for a long time with some other disease. Or simply you are normal with excellent efficient kidney function.
