My toddler son has a persistent dry cough. What can I do for him?

There are many causes of dry cough in children such as viral, bacterial, asthma, allergies, and irritants. Over the counter (OTC) cough medication, inhaling steam from warm fluid, and humidifiers would help the symptoms. Thankyou.
First thing is to take him to a pediatrician.
