The two biggest things to do in order to reduce dry eye with contact lenses is to make sure and never sleep in your contacts and also throw them away as required (whether that be daily or every 2 weeks or monthly). Overwear of contact lenses can cause dryness and may cause you to become intolerant
to contact lenses in the future. You can also use rewetting drops twice daily especially the days that you are constantly on the computer and you can decrease your contact lens wear time during the day.
Improper contact lens care and wear can exacerbate dry eye symptoms. It is always important to have proper hygiene when wearing lenses. If dry eye symptoms present you may use artificial tears or lubricating drops.
A patient with dry eye should not wear contact lenses
Contact holidays are very helpful period so if you don't need the contacts in please take them out. Make sure you never sleep in contacts. if you do have dry eye consider using artificial tears two to four times during the day. Other options also exist I recommend you see your local ophthalmologist.
