Take Aleve or Motrin prior to working on the patient about 30 minutes before.
The best analgesic for orthodontia soreness is either Aleve or Ibuprofen.

Yes, the soreness after seeing your orthodontist can really be overwhelming at times. I wore braces for many years. Chewing a sugarless piece of gum might be very helpful after seeing your orthodontist. This is what I did. Hope this helps!
You can take whatever you take for a headache or body ache. If you have no allergies to any of the following, you can take aspirin, tylenol, advil, alieve or if you have lots of discomfort, you can take one extra strength tylenol with one advil.
