“What inspired you to be a doctor?”

My mother was an obstetrician and my father was a professor of surgery. I cannot deny that I was influenced by both of them, however, I saw medicine as a source of problems and an opportunity to make great changes in people's lives. As a physician, I understood issues that are invisible to others and could communicate these problems to engineers and other scientists to effect changes.
