Sitting can actually agitation hip pain, essentially a high surface chair can reduce pain and avoiding positions likes crossing your legs.
Simple answer: any position of comfort. Yet, hip pain must be treated to cure it. Hip pain comes from soft tissue injury (muscle/fascia strain), not joint or arthritis, These jammed-up tissues, like tangled hair, can only be untangled internally by the body itself via light touch to initiate self-healing, otherwise the injuries will remain for a lifetime without spontaneous recovery. All other external treatments are ineffective in resolving the injury and curing pain, such as medications (oral or injection), hot/cold application (including laser), electrotherapy, massage, manipulation, acupuncture, stretching, strengthening, etc. In fact, stretching/strengthening is likely to irritate and worsen the injury.
