Check with your eye doctor. There are a variety of surgeries that can be used depending on the extent of glaucoma, the eye pressure, your age, and other factors. Like most things there is no "one size fits all".
If you have open-angle glaucoma usually the treatment starts with drops to lower the pressure. Some people start with a laser treatment called SLT selective laser trabeculoplasty which can be repeated if necessary. The ultimate right answer for you would be to see an eye care professional who offers all glaucoma treatments and discuss your options.
There are a number of surgical options to treat glaucoma. The question of which option is best for you depends on numerous factors, including the type of glaucoma you have, the level of severity, your current eye pressures, your past medical and surgical history, and several others. You should have a comprehensive evaluation with an ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma to help you make an informed decision on which, if any, surgical options would be appropriate for you.
