“What is the best thing for a diabetic to eat before bed?”
I have type 2 diabetes. I want to have a healthy diet. What is the best thing for a diabetic to eat before bed?

Dear Patient,
I try to keep carb intake at bedtime between 15 to 30 grams of carbs to prevent nocturnal hypoglycemia, especially those patients on long-acting insulin, as well as to prevent fasting hyperglycemia. Low-fat cheese and two to three whole wheat crackers or small portion of fruit usually work.
Respectfully,
