It depends on whether they are partial dentures will metal clasps that can be adjusted to hold on to the teeth tighter or if they are complete dentures that need a Lab to reline to have a better more stable denture. A dentist can evaluate it and see what he can do to make them fit better.
Thank you for your question, but I am an Orthodontist and focus on braces and aligners. I would direct your question to either a General Dentist or a Prosthodontist (who specializes in dentures).
Loose dentures come from not fitting well just after insertion. In that case you have to talk to your dentist about doing a reline or sometimes even a new denture to fit more tightly. In case you had your denture for approximately 4 to 5 years you will need a new set since your gums have a tendency to shrink over time .
The best solution is to have implants placed to lock the dentures in place. They are easy to connect and are similar to a snap on a shirt or pair of pants. If implants are out of your budget, then a reline (adding hard or soft material to the underside of the denture) is the next best option. Lastly, you can always try over-the-counter denture adhesives such as Poligrip or Fixodent to provide a bit of extra retention.
Your dentist may be able to reline your dentures - depending on how loose / how much needs to be added.
