Hi, this is not super common but creative and somatic therapies can be incredibly effective for working with a range of concerns and symptoms. The length of treatment depends on your unique goals and needs. If you are in the United States then you can search for a provider who is licensed in your state. If you are within California - I have availability to accept new clients - please visit www.sylvansart.com for more information and to contact me directly.

I would say the most common form of therapy is CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, given that it is an evidenced based treatment that has been shown to support people with reframing thoughts that hold them back or pass judgment on themselves.
Depending on what you’re hoping to work on in therapy, there are different types of psychotherapy. Evidence-based treatments have been well researched and established to address different diagnoses. For example, cognitive behavior therapy is highly effective for depression and anxiety and many other things, dialectical behavior therapy works well to regulate intense emotions, and there are others as well.
The most common depends on the professional. Most traditional therapy go to LPC, which have been not shown to do as much, but the only thing insurance will cover. If you are looking for real treatment, mindfulness BCT is good start. While most insurance might not cover because most are not a licensed, certified and spiritual coaches would be best to decide what is right for you.
