There are many factors that determine the best treatment option.
It sounds like you should be evaluated by a Board-Certified Fellowship-Trained Hand surgeon.
I'd be happy to see you.

Nerve damage comes in many different varieties. Sometimes watchful waiting is best, sometimes with medication, sometimes surgery. It really depends on the situation.

This is a difficult question to answer without more specific information. This really depends upon what you mean by: "nerve damage." Nerve damage can be secondary to conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome whereby the nerve is compressed. This can be treated with either a splint, and/or cortisone injections or surgical release. Nerve damage can also be secondary to an injury such as a nerve laceration which would requires surgical repair or reconstruction. I suggest that you see a hand surgeon to get a proper evaluation.
