What is the procedure for applying braces?

I am getting braces next week. I want to know what is the procedure for applying braces?

Congratulations! It'll be exciting. The process can take up to 2 hours so wear something comfortable, bring headphones just in case. They will need to clean the surface of the tooth first (etch), apply a bonding agent, and then attach brackets.
Placing on braces is an easy process. We use special glue to attach each individual bracket to the separate tooth. Some doctors use special trays where several brackets can be attached at the same time. Most practices will apply your lower and upper braces at the same appointment. Some practitioners will do just one arch at the time depending on preference and severity of the case. At the end of an appointment, wire is attached to the brackets. To hold wire engaged in the bracket, we use a different color of elastomerics. Some brackets have a special gate to hold the wire. Your wire will need to be changed every 4-8 weeks while brackets stay till the end of the treatment.

I would ask your orthodontist as there are several methods.... Cleaning the teeth, etching the teeth applying bonding resin, and then the resin coated brackets... I usually suggest taking 2 tylenol or such like pain reducer right before getting bracketed!!
They will bond brackets onto each tooth, and then connect all of the brackets with a wire. The wire is secured into place with little rubber bands.
