I will have a CT scan. What is the typical turnaround time for receiving the results of the CT scan?

Depends on where you are having your CT scan done. For Outpatient CT’s, the expectation is 1-3 days. For Inpatient CT’s, the expectation is same day. Hope this helps!

From my experience...Depending on how the order was placed (STAT or routine), the reason for the CT (emergent or routine), and radiologists staffing at the facility it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 36 hours typically to receive a CT result.
The typical time for T scan results range from 24 to 48 hours. Other factors can speed up results or delay them like with or with out contrast and if the patient is acutely ill; these CT scans can be returned in 12 hours either provisional report..
