You need to see a physical therapist to learn what kind of exercise you need.

Physical therapy for a rotator cuff tear involves progressive strengthening of the rotator cuff muscles and restoration of normal movement patterns of the shoulder complex. Your physician who diagnosed you should be able to write specific orders for the therapist based on location of the tear and whether or not it is a partial or complete tear.
It really depends on the diagnosis. There are 4 different muscles that make up the rotator cuff. These are the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, subscapularis and teres minor. The degree of damage to the muscle or tendon will also make a difference as to what type of treatment is involved. Full-thickness and some partial thickness tears would require surgery. If the problem is more like impingement or tendonitis, then Ice, decompression techniques and stretching is a good place to start. If you are having a problem in the shoulder, a good exam should be performed to determine which muscle or muscles are affected and whether a MRI should be performed to get a more accurate diagnosis. Once a proper diagnosis is made, the proper
treatment plan should be implemented by a physician or therapist that specializes in treating musculoskeletal injuries such as a Chiropractor or Physical Therapist.
I hope you find this info helpful.

This is a very broad question. It is kind of like asking what color is a Crayola crayon? Although there is one specific color you are looking for there are many different ways to arrive at that shade. Does it mean using only one or mix and match to get the color just right. There is no one right answer here but the program should be specific to your needs and situation. Good luck.
