Usually they use Midazolam sedation for liver biopsy. Also Loca anesthesia with 1% - 2% lidocaine. Thank you.
I'm not an anesthesiologist or interventional radiologist, but usually there is some short acting sedation provided, depending on how the liver biopsy is performed.
Normally, conscious sedation and local anesthesia.
