Hi, typically it is not sedation, ot requires general anesthesia which involves a combination of intravenous medications and gaseous medications. General anesthesia unless it's a biopsy, then local anesthesia.
Some times its done under General Anesthesia. It can also be done under Block or Local anesthesia with Sedation
