Family Practitioner Questions Weight Management

What should I do to control my weight?

Even though I exercise and take regular walks, I can't seem to lose any weight. What should I do to control it?

Are you doing brisk walking that makes you perspire? This means you are burning calories. Also, you need to eat whole, plant-based foods, eat regularly at the same time, no snacking, sleep at the right time and get 7-8 hours of sleep, and drink plenty of water (8-10 glasses per day). Do breathing exercises, 10 deep breaths in the am and pm. Get sunlight for vitamin D.
It can be challenging to lose weight. Normally, you need to burn 2000 calories to lose 1 lb. One way to help is to find the weight you are shooting for and multiply this by 10. That is the number of calories you should try to eat in a day to maintain this weight. Aerobic exercise like walking can also help, but be aware that you burn 100 calories per mile.
