You should have no dietary restrictions after gallbladder surgery
I generally recommend avoiding fatty, greasy, and oily foods during the recovery phase after surgery. Do not stop for fast food on your way home from the hospital. Those types of foods may cause nausea, bloating, and diarrhea (called post-cholecystectomy dumping). These symptoms typically resolve in 99% of people within 3 months. Long-term, you should not need to restrict your diet.
