I would double check with another professional, improper diagnosis are common. If she not doing any drugs and has no underlying health issues the best approach is medication management and counseling. I would recommend that she educates herself and better understands her disorder.
First, I would make sure the diagnosis is accurate. 95% of the pts who see me and inform me of the diagnosis, its incorrect. Common misdiagnoses are borderline personality disorder or a mood disorder, depressive type. If an accurate diagnosis she will need a psychiatric evaluation for medications and then see a psychologist that practices cognitive behavioral therapy. Best wishes, Dr. Crone

Glad to help out here. The most effective treatment for bipolar disorder currently is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). =20 Best to you and your daughter, Sally Raymond WARNING: The information contained in this communication is intended =
An effective treatment plan for bipolar I often includes a combination of medication, talk therapy, support groups, and improving overall health and wellness.
Hi How old is she? Was she evaluated by a psychiatrist? CBT or DBT therapy may be helpful! If you need additional help please email me at info@talkingtowardshealingmhc.com Best Alexandrea Maratea LMHC Talking Towards Healing Mental Health Counseling PLLC
Psychotherapy, or "talk" therapy, is an important part of treatment for bipolar disorder. During therapy, you can discuss feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that cause you problems. Talk therapy can help you understand and hopefully master any problems that hurt your ability to function well in your life and career.
