High lymphocytes count usually appears after an infectious process and it could be harmless in this situation, but higher count could result from a serious problem. Can be caused by cancer, chronic infections, etc. Additional tests would be necessary to find the etiology (Cause) of your Lymphocytes count increased levels. Main causes of spike Lymphocytes levels could be infectious (hepatitis, syphilis, HIV/AIDS, mononucleosis, medical, an underactive thyroid, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, and lymphoma. Please, check with your health care provider to find the etiology (cause) of your lymphocytosis. Thank you.
At that age and if the lymphocytes are normal and all the other blood elements in normal range,it's probably a reaction to a viral infection.
Depends on how high we are talking about it. The first thing would be to review a blood smear and actually look at them. Depending on what they look like, other testing can be done. Need to take things one step at a time to figure out what is going on and not to panic.
