When can I eat after spinal anesthesia?

I am a 39 year old female. I want to know when can I eat after spinal anesthesia?

You can have ice chips and fluids right after surgery. Solid foods depends on the type of surgery, usually 4-6 hours after surgery.




That depends on what kind of surgery you are having. If the surgery involves your stomach or intestines or other organs near your bowels, then the surgery will produce an ileus that precludes you from eating for at least 12 hours. If the surgery involves an arm or a leg, then you can eat right away.
