When should I be concerned about swollen ankles?

I have swollen ankles. What could be the cause? Should I see a doctor?

If both ankles are swollen, probably need to see a doctor. Medications, kidney problems, and heart problems can cause ankle swelling. Best to see your doctor.

Yes you should see a doctor. The source of swelling could be trauma, infection, or fluid retention.
Need more info. Could be heart issues or leaking varicose veins, you are retaining salt, or kidney issues. See a doctor.
Yes, you should. If both ankles are swollen and there has been no trauma (twisting) then it may be a sign that your body is retaining fluid or your heart is not pumping properly. See your family doctor or cardiologist asap. Hope it helps!!
Yes, it may be your heart or kidneys.
You should be concerned about swollen ankles if you have had no trauma. Differential diagnoses include Venous Insufficiency, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Blood Clots (DVT), arthritis, trauma, etc.
Both ankles swollen, it is usually a medical problem with the heart or kidneys or possibly a vascular problem. You need to see your primary care Dr.
I recommend you call your primary care physician and schedule an appointment to determine the cause of the swollen ankles
