This is abnormal. I would take them to your primary care doctor and discuss the complaint with them. There are a lot of things that can cause this.
If his heart races, then he should be evaluated by a pediatric cardiologist.
Usually this is nothing serious. Musculoskeletal pain (chest wall pain) is very common. I would tell your primary care MD about it and if he/she is concerned they can send you to a pediatric cardiologist for further evaluation.
