It takes 24 - 48 hours depending on what the pathologist find microscopically. Sometimes, the pathology needs to do more test from the findings.

Also, your result must be read and interpreted by your personal physician before you are notified of the results.

This varies a lot. Some places give patients immediate access to their own results, aKaiser Permanente. I have gotten mine within about 3 hours for simple tests.
