“Which form of therapy is most effective for panic attacks?”
I am a 30 year old male. I want to know which form of therapy is most effective for panic attacks? I am unable to speak normally when this happens.

There are panic attacks as well as anxiety attacks. A therapist or other mental health professional would need to assess your personal history to determine the cause to determine the best approach. These symptoms do suggest a highly escalated limbic system and the initial approach would be to regulate these displays so that further interventions can be implemented.
CBT techniques can effectively address panic and anxiety symptoms. The most common way is to do breathing exercises to help ground you. Counting and identifying things in the room also helps. Many people find positive self-talk and sensory objects helpful also. However the key to recovery is in the discovery process to identify what triggers your attacks and prevents you from speaking.
Hi,
Thank you for your question. There are many different therapies that are effective for panic attacks, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Panic reduction techniques include deep diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, grounding exercises, mindfulness meditation, practicing positive mantras or positive self-talk, guided imagery and visualization, and journaling or stream of consciousness writing. I would recommend you seek services from a mental health professional to help with panic attacks.
I hope this has been helpful!

You will have to consult with a psychologist or psychiatrist to treat your panic attacks.
I understand this completely, breath work is important. You can also seek medication to help and then work with holistic alternative tools. You need to find what works for YOU. You know YOU. If you have one before to get to anyone, start by tapping on your third eye while deep breathing, slowly it tapping on your inner hands. If it is real bad, contact a telecounselor; talk therapy helps.

Psychotherapy, including DBT or CBT, should help. Good luck!
If you are able to identify the trigger of the panic attack, preparing in advance such as through encouraging positive self talk, practice of belly breathing exercises can help. Identifying small steps and use of exposure therapy to the trigger source and assessing feelings afterwards can also help. Therapists use a variety of tools and techniques, depending on the trigger source, so obtaining therapist can help you work through the process. Think of courage as not the absence of fear, but the capacity to take action, despite the fear.
