I have mood swings lately. I think I have depression. Which test is useful in diagnosing depression?

The Beck Depression Inventory is the most used test for depression but I have found that the most useful approach is to describe the areas In your life where you have a sense of being in control and where you don’t. When you end up in situations where you mainly have little influence over your own choices you end up depressed.
