Why do I turn to food when I'm unhappy?

I am a 38 year old female. I want to know why do I turn to food when I'm unhappy?

Many people use food as comfort or numbing. It sounds like a good idea for you to get some therapy to figure out what the specific connection is for you and to develop alternative ways of coping.
Through some brain neuclei to make yourself happier by eating.
It is primarily a coping mechanism. Food, especially carbs, stimulate the same receptors in the brain that opiates do so certain foods are literally a drug that makes us feel better for a short time.
