Why does my heart beat so fast when I wake up?

Palpitations in the morning may be indicative of a medical condition such as anemia, dehydration, or a sleep disorder. It occurs if you drink alcohol or eat sugar or caffeine before retiring. Screening labs and physical exam and review of systems by your PCP is a good start.
