After an extraction, the area can be sore for 1-2 weeks, but you should have no pain or swelling after 2 days. If there is pain more than 2 days, you should return to the dentist that did the extraction to have it looked at.
Your gums can be tender for a few days to weeks after an extraction. The site will heal from the inside out.
The gum needs to heal after an extraction. Usually, allow at least 1-2 weeks to feel better. The first few days after the extraction is when the soreness is most intense. If after 1-2 weeks with no improvement, go get checked by a dentist.
