OB-GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist) Questions OBGYN

Why is my period so light?

I recently just got covid, and my period was 4 days late. I have never had sex, but my period was 4 days late and I've only filled about a pad and a half over the past two days. Is this normal? I'm scared I have gotten very small blood clots like the size of a fish tank pebble not even

That's probably ok. Menstrual cycles are very sensitive to other things going on in your body. It's not unusual, especially for a teenager, to have changes in your periods from time to time, including how long they last, how heavy they are and whether they are on time. Having had Covid recently probably disrupted your usual rhythm. Since you are not sexually active pregnancy would not be the cause. For now, don't worry. If you continue to have unusual changes that concern you, you should see a gynecologist. Hope this helps!
Hello. Covid has an affect on one's entire system. Clotting can sometimes be normal during the menses but at other times it is not. For an accurate diagnosis it is advised that you have bloodwork done for hormone levels to be obtained. That could or could not lead to the need for an ultrasound.
Hi
This is probably normal. sometimes periods can be not exactly on time. If it persists, you should see a doctor who can check hormones and do an ultrasound.
