Will a change in dosage for birth control matter?

I take birth control for cramps and heavy bleeding. I do have a history of headaches and migraines, but those only started after a concussion from a couple of years back. I am currently taking the Blisovi (1-20mcg) but I have had many side effects (nausea, hot flashes, stomach aches, anxiety, panic attacks, migraines) so I asked my doctor if I could switch back to the one I took before. I was previously taking Lo Loestrin (1-20mcg) and I had very good results from that as well as only having headaches and light nausea. But when I picked up the prescription, my doctor prescribed Lo Loestrin in a 1-10mcg dosage. I'm just wondering if this change in dosage will lessen its effectiveness and or cause more side effects?

That is the correct dosage for Lo Loestrin. The Loestrin dose is 1-20mcg and the current pill you are taking is a generic of Loestrin. The lower dose will not lower its effectiveness and may lessen the side effects.

Hard to say. I'd take the prescription given. If it works well, great. If not, ask for the dose adjustment.
