“Should acupuncture be a long term thing?”
Is it advisable to take acupuncture treatment for a prolonged period of time just for general stress relief? Will it cause any side effects?

Hi,
acupuncture treatment doesn't have side effect, beside bruises. It is a physical stimulation to balance the internal Qi (life energy).
Hope this is answer that you are looking for

Acupuncture has no side effects if and when used long term. Acupuncture is very beneficial for stress reduction and is highly recommended.
Chinese medicine and acupuncture can treat diseases and pain. It also can promote and restore body immunity for longevity and well-being, it is very effective to manage stress, and can balance emotion.
There are no side effects if doing it right and it can be a long-term use for promoting well-being.

Acupuncture is great for stress relief. If you have a very stressful life, as most people do, you will feel much calmer and will be able to function better if you get acupuncture treatments regularly. In ancient times, acupuncture was used more as a preventive than curative medicine. It will not cause any adverse side effects.
It is advisable with no side effects.
Taking acupuncture treatments is like keeping energy flow smoothly, general stress in Chinese medicine is more liver qi stagnation, therefor, taking acupuncture regularly to keep liver qi flow nicely. it's advisable.

Depends on different people. Some people don’t need prolonged treatment. After 2-3 times they feel better. Thanks
Acupuncture is very effective for general stress relief. There is absolutely no side effects. It will be the best solution for the stress relief and anxiety.
Thank you for your question. Yes, I would definitely advise you to find a licensed Acupuncture Physician in your area and use Acupuncture as a natural way of allowing your body to work more efficiently and in harmony by doing a maintenance program. A maintenance program can be once/month or once every 2-3 months after your regular treatment and issues have been resolved. The maintenance program may rely on what your physician see appropriate for your situation.
Acupuncture works by way of balancing and harmonizing the body to allow it to perform at its ultimate best. Keeping this in mind, it will always be beneficial to maintain the efficiency and harmony in your body. Stress itself plays a huge role in the body becoming in disarray. Acupuncture relieves stress, harmonizes the body, and the best part of this is there are no negative side effects. Good luck!

Acupuncture can be used over a prolonged period of time without problem. For patients that have acute issues, we usually front load the treatment process. This means we see them at short intervals up front, usually for the first several weeks, and then we transition to a maintenance schedule. Maintenance can mean a variety of intervals from monthly to twice a year, it just depends on the patient.
I do a lot of work with stress patients. Initially I see them weekly for 3-4 weeks and then we go monthly to keep things in check. These monthly treatments can go on for a year or more. If the patient is able to make lifestyle changes to reduce their stressors they might only come back quarterly. If lifestyle changes aren't possible in the near term, then they may consider coming monthly or every other month for an extended period of time.
I've never personally had anyone experience a negative side effect from prolonged acupuncture.

Acupuncture is a great preventative medicine strategy and can be used for long periods of time as long as you are not doing it "every day" for long periods of time. If it is a chronic issue, five times a week is ok with a week off every 3 weeks. If you are going once or twice a week or just once every two weeks or less you can do that long term with no problems.
There are minimal side effects to acupuncture such as bruising, soreness, or dizziness.
As for stress relief, acupuncture can be used for as long as the patient feels necessary and is always available to support a patient through periods of higher stress. I frequently give my patients meditation and other exercises to help alleviate stress at home.

Thanks for your question! Acupuncture is noted as one of the three pillars of maintains good health in the ancient texts, dating back 5000 years. The other two pillars of health, just for curiosity’s sake, are spinal adjustments and massage. Acupuncture inherently increases circulation, decreases inflammation and increases production of serotonin and dopamine in he body. For these reasons, there is nothing harmful about acupuncture and, to the contrary, can be incredibly beneficial for maiming good health long term.
Stress and emotional issues are some of my favorite things to treat because acupuncture works so very well! Generally I see people twice a week until their stress levels are low or gone between treatments. At that point we start spreading their appointments out to once a week, then every other week, and so on until they are happy with their ability to handle what life throws at them. After that they just come for what we call tune ups to help them when they need a little boost.
If I could, I would get acupuncture at least once a month for the rest of my life. There are no side effects other than improved health and well being, it can be used to keep us healthy and happy, and it helps stop any budding problems from developing. So would I advise getting acupuncture long term? You bet! I have loads of patients who have been coming for years who come once a month or so just to stay balanced and healthy.
So if you're in a position to get acupuncture ongoing, go for it.
