Orthopedist Questions knee pain

Acute, above the knee, pain. Sudden onset?

Acute knee pain, R. lateral & to the R of the patella on femur above knee joint, small area of tenderness, suspect irritated bursa or strained ligament. Very very painful to sit down, stand up, lift leg as in walking, have to keep leg stiff. Massaging made pain even worse, and NSAIDs of no help. Knee was not knowingly injured, strained, hit, unknown why this pain came on quickly. I hope tincture of time will clear this up, if not, I'll have to make an appointment with Dr. What do you think?

You should be evaluated. Could be Quadriceps Tendon Strain or an inflammatory process like Gout. X-rays should be performed of the knee, followed by the appropriate treatment.
