Are birth control pills 100% safe?

I am a 21 year old female. I am taking birth control pills. Are birth control pills 100% safe?

Birth control pills are very safe and have many benefits. They are highly effective birth control. They generally will make your periods lighter and less painful. They treat endometriosis. They can help relieve the symptoms of PMS. They also significantly decrease the risk of developing uterine and ovarian cancer. Overall, for healthy non-smokers the benefits are large and the risks are negligible. There are some risks associated with birth control pills in smokers and for women with certain medical problems. You should make sure you have reviewed your specific situation with your doctor to understand if there are any risks to the birth control pill for you.
Hi,

Well, nothing is 100% safe. However, as long as you do not smoke, it is VERY safe. Also, it definitely is safer than becoming pregnant. It also is used for other things like to help treat heavy periods, ovarian cysts, painful periods, etc.  It is a combination of progesterone and estrogen. Two hormones that your body produces naturally. I know that you are 21 years old.  My daughter is 16 years old and she takes it daily to help prevent real painful periods and heavy bleeding. If it was dangerous, I would not have put my daughter on it.
I hope that this helps.
