Are blood donations still being done during COVID-19?

I am a 20 year old male. I want to know are blood donations still being done during COVID-19?

The Red Cross has implemented new blood donation deferrals out of an abundance of caution. They are now asking individuals to postpone their donation for 10 days following the diagnosis of COVID-19. Transfusions will still be necessary for emergency situations. Thank you.
The best thing would be to call the blood bank of the hospital to see what procedure they have implemented at the time of COVID-19 pandemic.
Yes, There is a nationwide critical shortage. Please give if at all possible.

Yes! In fact, during the pandemic, we need donations more than ever! There is a national blood shortage now, created as a side effect of so many community centers closing. Please give if you can and pass on the word!
