Are crowns better than veneers?

I am a 33 year old male. I want to know if crowns are better than veneers?

No, veneers are better if you have all structure of the tooth and you did not have root canal.
Great question. Veneers can help repair cosmetic concerns on teeth without having to do as much tooth reduction as a crown would require. Crowns are needed when there are large fillings, root canals, fractures, multi-surface decay areas, severe attrition (wear) and certain bite problems. Veneers can correct mis-shaped or mis-aligned teeth that are otherwise healthy, lengthen teeth and improve color.

Crowns are better than veneers when patients have a habit of grinding or clenching or exhibit wear of their teeth. Veneers are very thin and if a patient like prior gets them an occlusal guard is highly recommended to avoid chipping or breaking of veneers. However if patients don't exhibit wear veneers can be a very aesthetic and a less invasive procedure than crowns. Veneers may need to be replaced in 7 to 10 years, half the life of crowns. This also highly depends on a patients oral hygiene habits. These recommendations should only be for patients who do not have gum disease or are high caries risk. If these kinds of patients get these products it may only last a year, maybe 2 or 3 before there are issues and replacement is needed.
