Hi,

Implants are not painful as the procedure is being done. You will be completely numb in the area that is undergoing the surgery. Post-operatively, there is normally very minimal pain. Usually Advil will handle the slight discomfort. Salt water rinses will help the tissue heal more quickly as well. So, try not to worry. Find a clinician with extensive implant surgery experience and your outcome will be stellar!
Although dentistry is never comfortable, oftentimes patients report that getting implants are as gentle as getting a filling & much easier than getting a tooth removed.
Implants are usually not painful. They’re done with local anesthesia and usually do not require pain medications, other than perhaps Tylenol, etc. They are a much more comfortable procedure than a typical tooth extraction.

Any type of surgical procedure will usually have some discomfort. Your surgeon will prescribe appropriate medication, but overall, the experience is usually not that uncomfortable.
