Plastic Surgeon Questions Rhinoplasty

Are there different types of a rhinoplasty?

I'm 23 years old, and I want to change the shape of my nose. I noticed that there are different techniques surgeons can use to perform a rhinoplasty. Can you explain these techniques for me?

Hello, the two techniques used are open rhinoplasty whereby an incision is made at the bottom of the nose, carried into the nostrils and the skin is pulled off the nasal tissue. The other technique, which I personally use, is closed rhinoplasty. With this technique, there are no scars on the outside. All the incisions are inside the nostrils.
Yes. Look at plastic surgery.org
Yes there are two broad categories of rhinoplasty. The first is a closed rhinoplasty. This is performed entirely from with in the nose with no external scar. Then there is an open rhinoplasty which is performed by making an incision externally and elevating the soft tissue of the nose off the bone this does result in a visible scar.Dr. Ciardullo
