Are there side effects of attention deficit medications?

I was just diagnosed with adult ADD and I'm in my early 30s. l'm very uneasy about the thought of taking the medication for. Are there side effects of attention deficit medications?

Yes, there are side effects to any medication. Some of the common side effects to ADHD medications: decreased appetite leading to weight loss, insomnia, hallucinations, increased energy/activation. These side effects are not common, but they may occur. Please tell your prescriber/psychiatrist when any of these side effects may be experienced.
