“Are vasectomies painful?”
I'm sure I never want to have children, so this definitely seems like the best option for me. Is it painful to get a vasectomy?

Local anesthesia is given. At times, the procedure is performed under sedation in an outpatient center. Most people tolerate it with just numbing medicine. If pain is a major concern, discuss it with your doctor for options.
Consider a minor procedure done under local anesthesia mostly in the office. It may be tender for a few days.
No, it is not painful. A few days after the procedure there is some tenderness. However, pain pills are prescribed to alleviate the pain.
A vasectomy can be performed with minimal or no pain. Different types of anesthesia are available, depending upon a patient's need.
