The most common reason for back pain in your age group is a strain of the ligaments and associated muscle spasm. A herniated disk is less common and usually has associated buttock or leg pain and may have numbness and tingling in legs. There are multiple more serious issues also which include vascular problems or in females uterine or ovarian problems. It would be important to know what if anything is associated with this pain. Perhaps try heat, massage, antiinflammatory and light stretching for several days and if sumptoms to not improve or get worse follow up with an Orthopedic physician or your PCP. Good luck!
You will need to be evaluated by a physician to ensure there are no neurologic problems.
