“What is the best way to treat wrinkles around my eyes?”
I am a 35 year old woman and I can feel fine lines and crow's feet developing around my eyes. I have a lot of wrinkles around them in particular, but is there any way to have this issue treated permanently?

Hi,
It is very difficult to give you a complete opinion without seeing a photograph of your face from all angles. Any Dermatology News three crews feet with Botox approximately every four months or so. You might also try to use an eye cream which is labeled for use near the eyes. Many contain retinol and/or vitamin C.

There are many great options for treating wrinkles around your eyes depending on the cause:
1. Botulinum toxin (Botox, Dyport, Xeomin) are helpful for wrinkles due to skin creasing from muscle movement. Each time your skin creases with movement, you break down collagen and the wrinkles get deeper. If you stop the movement, your skin is allowed to rest and in turn builds new collagen. Botulinum toxin safely treats and prevents wrinkles.
2. Filler: A hyaluronic acid filler can fill the deep wrinkles and hollowing around the eyes.
3. Laser: I like to use a fractionated CO2 laser to tighten and smooth the skin of the upper and lower eyelids.
Many times, I find my patients need all 3 of these treatments for the best results.

Treating permanently would require surgery. However, this not a good option. We use the muscles around the eyes to facilitate eye motion, blinking and facial expression. The use of Botox and fillers help tremendously and can leave a very natural youthful look. Also, eye creams to keep the skin hydrated can help as well as laser resurfacing.

If you want to have chemicals or toxins injected into you, there are many dermatologists willing to do this. You may have to return every 6 months or so. Many side effects with lumps, sarcoidosis etc may appear. We can also treat this problem without any injections but may take a bit longer ie about 10-15 consults. There is no doctor in this world that can permanently turn the clock back for anyone. Try migrating to China, they respect the elderly more and make them feel cherished. When they want to show respect, they call you the 'old one' even when they are older than you. Just cultural differences.

Obaji is the great skin Caroline that I love. They have an under eye cream that works wonderful for both black bags and wrinkles. Also, you can go get a prescription for some tretinion cream that is used for both wrinkles, however, I would use caution when using that one as it must be used sparingly; do not recommend using anything such as Botox as you can cause multiple problems.
