“Can I have braces for 6 months?”
I am a 25 year old female. I don't want to wear braces for very long. Can I have braces for 6 months?

It is possible and depends on the type of movement needed.
Teeth move slower for adults. Depends on how far the teeth need to be moved. Suggest a consult with a qualified orthodontist.
The duration (time in braces) is completely dependent on the complexity of the case. There are some cases in which the problems are so minor, that they can be done with braces (or Invisalign) in 6 months or less...others obviously take longer due to more major problems. Other factors come into play such as frequency of adjustments, missed appointments, etc. There are some minor alignment cases that can be done with a removable aligner retainer in as little as a month! It mainly depends on how complex the problems are.
Teeth move about 1 mm per month. Every person's mouth is different. Some people can be finished in 6 months, but the average time for braces is 18 months.

Sometimes you can, it all depends on the complexity of the case. If you are just getting anterior teeth alignment, it can be done in 6 months.
It depends on your case. If you have a good bite and mild to moderate crowding, it is possible. However if you have other issues and your bite is off, it will take longer. Teeth straightening happens fairly quickly, but fixing the bite takes longer. Some people just want their teeth straight, but having a good bite is important for the health and longevity of the teeth. You would need to be evaluated by an orthodontist to truly determine the length of your specific treatment.

Length of treatment depends upon the severity of the problem. In such cases, a more limited treatment plan is possible, though some compromise in the result is likely.
