“Can a head massage reduce a child's headache?”
I have a 9 year old son who has frequent headaches. Can a head massage reduce a child's headache?

As with all symptoms, the key to treating the symptom is to identify and treat the cause. In children, few symptoms are caused by lifestyle choices, so identifying and treating the cause of the symptom is crucial. Headaches in 9-year-olds can be caused by issues with vision, migraine, diet, video games, and a whole host of other causes -- some of which need subspecialized treatments. Your pediatrician will inquire details about the headaches: when, how often, how long, associated symptoms, etc. Only after a cause has been identified can an appropriate treatment be recommended.

Yes head massage, along with face massage is helpful in reducing headaches. Back of the neck massage and holding neurological points on childs forehead just above the eyebrow and middle of eyebrow. Hold these points by gently placing stoft fingertip pads or hold forehead with entire hand over forehead. Check with doctor regarding why your kiddo is experiencing frequent headaches.
