Can a salt water rinse heal a gum infection?

I am a 24 year old female and I have a gum infection. Can a salt water rinse heal a gum infection?

It depends on what is causing the infection. Salt water rinses can help keep an area clean and reduce the pain, so if it was a minor trauma that caused the infection, it can help. If it is a tooth causing the infection, then salt water rinses are not enough.
While warm salt water rinse will help reduce the inflammation/irritation in the gum tissues, they will not treat a gum infection since the cause is generally bacterial and requires antibiotics and further evaluation of the underlying cause of the infection
Hello,

Yes. It can help to reduce the infection. But I would like to recommend you to have a check-up 1st.
That will make it feel better, but it will have no therapeutic effect.

It might offer you some pain relief but not likely to heal a gum infection.
