Can a toothbrush cause sore gums?

I am a 37 year old male. I wonder if a toothbrush can cause sore gums?

Yes, a hard bristled toothbrush can cause gum abrasion. Use a soft brush and angle it so it doesn't hurt the gum.

Hello,

A toothbrush can be causing gingival irritation depending on your brushing technique. I highly recommend brushing with a SOFT bristle toothbrush and utilizing the sulcular toothbrushing technique, which angles the brush 45 degrees toward the gingiva.

Thank you,

Yes, only use soft tooth brushes. Hard ones are great for scrubbing grime in the kitchen, but leave them out of the mouth.
It could if you brush too hard on your gums. You should use a soft bristle brush and brush gently.
Toothbrush abrasions are common on the enamel but uncommon on the gums unless you brush your gums too aggressively. Try rinsing with warm salt water for sore gums
