Can adults get leukemia?

I am a 21 year old female. I was wondering can adults get leukemia?

Yes. More adults get leukemia than children. At your age the risks are very low. There are acute leukemias which are less frequent and more lethal; and chronic leukemias which are more common and less dangerous. The acute leukemias occur at all age ranges, but the chronics occur as we age.
Yep. Anyone can get it.


Yes. All of the leukemia patients in my practice are adults. Pediatric leukemia is a separate subspecialty.
