Can an eye infection cause headaches?

My daughter has an eye infection with headaches. Can an eye infection cause headaches?

Yes, definitely, especially if it is a frontal headache and on the same side. But once the eye infection clears, the headache should clear as well.
Hi, thank you for your question.

Eye infections like conjunctivitis or "pink eye" can cause eye irritation, burning or discomfort, but they really should cause significant headaches. If the eye infection involves redness and swelling around the eye and headaches then you may need to see your doctor sooner rather than later.
Usually not. She will need to be evaluated in person.
