Some have training. There are TMD specialist depending on where you live. Some dentist do treat, but make sure they have had training.
Hi there!

Yes. An oral surgeon can definitely help you. Your general dentist may also be able to help you. If you don’t have a night guard already, then definitely get one to prevent your TMJ issues getting worse while you get an appointment with your general dentist or oral surgeon.

Yes ..You should seek out an oral surgeon.
Yes.
Hello,

Sorry to hear about your clicking and tension. Yes, an oral surgeon can help you with your TMJ problems (known as TMD). Since you already have symptoms, an oral surgeon can help identify what is causing those symptoms: arthritic changes in your joint, dysfunction of the joint itself, your structure of the joint. The oral surgeon can also help by discussing treatment options and the likelihood of each one helping with your symptoms. Remember, not all oral surgeons treat TMD, so it is a good idea to ask before going in.
Hope this helps.

My best to you!

I think you should see an oral surgeon for TMD.
